There is growing conversation within Kingsville surrounding how our municipality is being managed. Residents have expressed concerns about transparency, accountability, spending, and communication. I am taking these concerns seriously. It is the responsibility of candidates and elected officials to seek the answers to residents' questions, find the evidence, do the homework, and speak on behalf of the people.

Kingsville needs a careful and objective review of how things are operating in Town Hall. This doesn't mean assuming something is wrong, but rather taking an honest look at our processes, spending, organization, and especially our relationship between council and administration.

Council is elected to provide leadership, oversight, and direction. Administration also plays an essential role—managing day-to-day operations, providing professional advice, and implementing the decisions of council. Residents have expressed that they feel decisions are being made before they have an opportunity to provide input, or that council is being presented with and going along with ideas that are already moving forward. Residents deserve to know who is really making the decisions that will affect their day-to-day lives, and how council is exercising its responsibility to oversee them.

This isn't about pointing fingers; it's about making sure the structure works as intended and keeping people honest. The CAO and administration should be able to provide advice without question, and council should be able to ask questions. This balance is fundamental.

Experience matters when asking the right questions. With more than 40 years of experience in infrastructure, electrical systems, and hands-on operations, I bring a perspective that is currently underrepresented at the council table. Municipal decisions often involve complicated infrastructure, contracts, maintenance, and financial commitments. I not only understand them, but have been first-hand involved with much of what is in Kingsville today.

I am prepared to look beyond presentations and ask the questions that taxpayers deserve answers to. As Deputy Mayor, I will support a careful and fact-based review of how our municipality operates. We need to identify what is working, what needs improving, and where taxpayers deserve greater accountability.

Listen. Ask questions. Review the facts. Make informed decisions. That is responsible leadership.
